How yall doin?
Ive been coonhuntin now for about 3 years im 14 now and i love it. Ive been through 2 dogs now and im on my third one he is Sackett Jr. Grandson and hes goin to be with me for a while. Me an my Grandpa have been menin to visit the cemetery but havent had the chance to but will soon. Cant wate.

hi my names brandon im 15yrs old and i have a 7 month old redbone named Jill and a 6yr old bluetick named Courage that can hunt great and he will be teaching all of my dogs how to hunt he has a great bawl and very loud and older hunters love him.I plan on making a trip down there next year on my way to vacation

I am the proud owner of a 5 month old decendent of Parker's Reverend Red, one of the greatest coondogs of all time and quite possibly the best redbone ever. And he is already showing awesome hunting skills. I just wanted to drop by and say that i appreciate the graveyard because it speaks for people like us who are a diein breed, and some of the hardest workin, and best dogs in the world. Good Job and Thank you!

I grew up there in Colbert Co., AL, and hunted in the Coondog Cemetery area for 28 years (mostly for deer), and visited the Cemetery many times. I'm sure glad to find this site honoring one of the most unique places in the world.

I didn't start coon hunting until after my kids were born, but have some wonderful memories of running through the woods at night with one or the other of them on my shoulders, chasing the hounds, right there within a mile of so of the Cemetery.

I love to get back to Alabama and will visit (and hopefully hunt) those wonderful Freedom Hills again.

I'm glad that people care about this great tradition as much as i do i am 20 and have been hunting most of my life and have had some good dogs, but there are always the great ones and those deserve respect just like the great guys that started this memorial graveyard.

im Pennie from Sylva,N.C...I live in a little redneck town out in the middle of the boondocks. :p And I have hunted since i was about 3 years old!!! And all my life my dog Jipsey has been by my side!! Sure dogs have came and went but its nice to no that there is a tribute to good dogs like her!! :-)

ive coon hunted all my life. im glad theres a place where a good coon dog can be buried. theres no greater friend to a man than his coon dog. i love my dog. nite ch dirty south shaker. he is a full coon dog. he might be buried there when he dies. but he'll probally be buried at the house. :-)

The minute I saw Alyce's picture on the internet for adoption I knew she was mine. She is a Treeing Walker Coonhound. Never knew anything about the breed but knew that this was my dog. Though I don't hunt, I see her skills in other ways. I acutally got see her tree a opposum! It was pretty cool. She had the loveliest bay.
Living in Portland I don't see many other Walkers.
I hope to become a foster home, someday, for coonhounds.
I think once you have one there is no turning back. They can be stubborn as hell but they are the best!

The very first Time i went coon hunting was with a guy i met on the internet ( now my finace') Allen, he said he was going coon hunting and did i want to go? well i did, it was our first date, i got swamp water & mud clear up to my waist, cold and totally nasty, but i loved it. i Now have a 1 yr old walker hound that has been treeing since 10 months old.. I love my dog and the other walker so much.. havent visit yet but my next chance i will be sure to stop by.. :-) :D

Been here before(website) sure would like to get up to the place and see it
all first hand.I lost my leg 2 yrs.ago
but shure would like to get back out and
hear the best sounds ever again.
I had and raised all Blue Tick. Had a son straight outa Gr.Na.CH PR."Smokie River Blue Diamond Jim" CH.PR.Southern Blue Streak. Man I miss it BAD. Had to get rid of all. Gave them to a man up around Perry Fl. To enjoy since I could no longer keep up. Thanks for this site. From my Coon Huntin Heart,

:-) hello I was working in the oilfield and was told of another coon dog cemetary by toledo bend lake tx /la state line sure enough there is one it is called boles cemetary located south of center tx by the town of milam tx. the oldest is from 1947. I asked some of the older people about it from the area and they said it was the old mans personal cemetary for his dogs then people wanted to put there dogs in it thought I might tell you and maybe you could or already know more about it thanks chris trussell

I would like 2 say i appereciate what yall hav done in making a cemetery for just coon dogs.
I try 2 visit it at least once every year when Im hunting because it brings back memories of my uncle who passed away a few years back, because his dog felix is there.
Every time Im there I can hear the dogs running one last time.Keep up the good work. THANKS ALOT

Coonhounds are amazing. Ours is smart, has his own ideas about what is right, won't catch a frisbee (you can't eat 'em)& has us wrapped around his little dewclaw. I love the idea of a special cemetary to respect the feelings their loved ones have for their dogs. Our black & tan is going on 13, I hope we can have him in good health for a long time yet.

great site,people should show tribute to something like this.most people that dont hunt dont realize how important these hounds are to us.i've stayed up a many a night lookin for hounds i lost in the brush.i got a ole 14 year old walker that i've had all my life and id like for him to be buried there when he passes,but hopefully that isnt anytime soon.Because hes still a treein.but i would like to know how to git some information on burrying him there.can somebody help me with that.thank you and never loose that desire to here them ole hounds bawl.

Well, I'm not into coon hunting, but I had
uncles that were, but I am into cemetaries,
so I do plan on visiting this very unique
cemetary, discovered it on Turner South.
